We had another wonderful team of Xerox workers come out to volunteer today. They did a great Job working in the rain. A lot of work got done inside and we now have a roof on the second floor. Woohoo Great Job Guys!

Xerox Management and Specialist Team Day 2

We had another great group of people come out to the site today, Even though I am sure they were told by yesterday’s crew how sore they would be by the end of the day. When I arrived everyone was already hard at work. A lot was going on. I was told there would be walls when I got back at the end of the day.

Floor Layout Plans

Xerox Management Team Day 1

We had our first group of Volunteers come out today for our Rent a Day Fund Raiser. It was a group of wonderful people from the management team at Xerox.

I greeted the workers as they arrived on site they seemed anxious to get started. I left them to do their work. As I arrived around 3:30 to see the progress and get some footage from the day, I was amazed at the amount of work they were able to accomplished in such a short time. Of course, I am sure it was a long 6hrs for them. They did a lot of shovelling and heavy work finished the basement floor. I wish I would have been there to get some footage of that, I was told everyone was covered in dirt. Then they put the basement ceiling up, so we have a floor on the second level. I know there is a lot more to it however, as I am sure you can all tell. I have absolutely no knowledge of building a home. It looks wonderful. As I brought the kids up at the end of the day they let out a loud “WOW” They were surprised to see all the people working on building a home for us to live in. I want you all to know how much we appreciate your hard work today. I hope you all were able to go home and take a long hot bath and relax.

This morning Gary Mittelholtz from CBC News interviewed Tim Ryan (chairman of the board), John Ives Boudreau (Project manager), My son Scott, daughter Kristyanna and myself in front of the Build Site at 17 Saint Andrews Street. This was very exciting for the children and I.
